About Us

Walpole Friends was inaugurated in 2009 with the aim of giving users of Pitzhanger Manor, and its immediate parks a focus for working with Ealing Council and to provide a coherent voice for influencing how these historic facilities can be used to best effect and their role enhanced in the Borough.

Now is an exciting time in the history of Pitzhanger Manor and Walpole Park as Ealing Council has obtained £2.5m of Lottery Funding for Walpole Park and is currently applying for HLF Funding for Pitzhanger Manor. Walpole Friends is working with Ealing Council to make better use the Manor and Parks in the context of the Borough’s reputation for the arts (for example local architecture and film).

This could involve:
* Organising and guiding tours of the whole area
* Providing stewards for the Manor
* Linking to TVU and the new Film Studios
* Historic kitchen garden management
* Linking in with the Civic Society and Ealing Council * Library Lecture Programme

Additional ideas and suggestions are warmly received.
